Nancy Sara Yellin
28 Years Old

April 17, 1969 to October 25, 1997

Nancy Sara Yellin of Delray Beach, Florida, was born to Civia and Arthur Yellin. Nancy joined her two brothers Lawrence Brett and Joel Andrew to be raised in East Brunswick, New Jersey. Nancy was a student most of her life. Her passions were theater, singing, skiing, cooking, sports and traveling. Nancy was a strong, independent woman who always looked inward for self-knowledge and growth.

After graduating from Rutgers University in NJ, her ideals and values led her to the University of Maryland Law School. During her years as a student of law, Nancy volunteered to work for a Baltimore TV station that produced "Shame On You", a program that exposed business fraud and fought for consumer rights and protection. Nancy also volunteered at "The House of Ruth" which is a battered woman's shelter. Subsequently, at "The House of Ruth", Nancy became a paid legal advocate. Nancy graduated as a lawyer and was licensed in Maryland. More recently, she wanted to live closer to her parents, so she passed the bar in Florida and was about to start her career. Nancy had received a job offer from a Florida law firm. Of Nancy's man goals, her immediate one was her desire and commitment to assist her mother in the care and management of Arthur Yellin during his critical illness.

Nancy was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her laugh, smile, and her love of life lit up every room she entered. Nancy was just about to begin fulfilling her dream of contributing to society by helping those in need. Nancy's love and closeness to her family and her life-long friends made her a special and cherished person.

She could have and would have made a difference!

On October 25, 1997, in the wee hours of the morning, Nancy was killed in a sudden, cruel, senseless moment when a drunk driver crashed into the car. Her brother, Larry, sister-in-law Robin, and nephew, Nate, were all killed.

Eriberto Vargas was convicted of 4 counts of DUI, manslaughter and one count of leaving the scene. He is currently awaiting sentencing.
