Keith Lamont Kendall
22 Years Old

December 14, 1969 to May 22, 1992

Keith was born on December 14, 1969 to William and Virginia Kendall. As he grew older he was an outgoing, fun loving child who liked to make people happy and always wanted to help others.

Accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he united with Mt. Hebrew Baptist Church. He was in the youth choir and bible school. He enjoyed church services. He attended Durham Elementary School and a black junior high school at Wallings High. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and president of the marching band. He played the drums and guitar. He spent a week at San Houston State with students from other schools at the Band Club. He worked at Wendy's fast food, later he was hired at Aramics Oil Company. He worked there summers and during Christmas break.

He continued his education at Prairie View A & M University, where he received a full scholarship. He majored in music and minored in business. He was a member of the Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society and Mu Sigma Alpha Music Society. He spent two months at Indiana University (Bloomington, IA) for the SROP (Summer Research Opportunities Program) in the summer of 1991. He was Magna Cum Laud and graduated in May. Keith always went the extra mile in whatever he did.

According to the Houston Chronicle, September 24, 1992, (after Lisa Kay was indicted) after his death, University officials described Kendall as a model student with great promise.

On Friday morning, May 22, 1992, his ex-girlfriend Lisa Kay stopped him on his way to work, had him pull over on a parking lot that had two buildings that were not in use.

I heard three gun shots but went back to sleep thinking Keith was already at work. It happened only three blocks from home. A worker came to the fast food store, went out in the back, and noticed the car and his body in it, and called the police.

He was shot three times in the head. He was lying face down on the front seat. His money was still in his wallet untouched.
